The Arizona Chapter of the
Vibration Institute was formed in 1997. It is a local chapter of the Vibration Institute; the
only nationally recognized organization dedicated to the exchange of
information about vibration, primarily dealing with predictive maintenance
of rotating equipment and an organization for the dissemination of
practical information on evaluating equipment behavior and condition.
The AIPdM has included the thermography and lubrication technologies with
vibration in our symposia, and has a cooperative relationship with the Society for Tribologists and
Lubrication Engineers (STLE) to draw from the
expertise of these other professionals devoted to improving machinery
reliability. Their knowledge, gained from using alternate technologies such
as oil analysis and infrared thermography, when
added to vibration, provide an improved vision of equipment health.
Our local chapter has more than 50
active members from all types of companies. These companies range from a
one-man consulting firm to large corporations from a variety of industries;
these include Motorola,
Arizona Public Services, General Dynamics, City of Phoenix, Honeywell, Intel, Salt River Project, and
many more.
Come join us at one of our quarterly meetings or annual
vendor days. You do not have to be a member of the Vibration Institute
to attend our meetings.
Our goal is to provide a venue for the
exchange of information and ideas in the field of predictive maintenance
and to be a resource to help the individual lift their organizations'
maintenance group to world-class status.
