Our purpose is to provide a local
venue for the exchange of information and ideas in the fields of Predictive
Maintenance and Reliability Engineering and to be a resource to help the
individual lift their organization's maintenance function to world-class
status.
Our official mission statement is: "The AIPdM is an organization for the
exchange of information on machinery and equipment behavior and condition
for the purpose of optimal asset management."
The main technologies we are
interested in are vibration, balancing, alignment, thermography
and new & used oil analysis, but we are also interested in other
technologies (ultrasonic, electrical, etc.) that are related to our mission
statement.
The Vibration Institute is a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exchange of practical vibration
information on machines and structures. The scope of the Institute's
activities also includes non-intrusive condition monitoring technologies.
The Vibration Institute's
Certification Program is the focal point for recognizing the capability and
motivation of individuals in the vibration field. It provides professional
recognition by clients, employers, and colleagues and acknowledgment of
proven capability at the level certified. The Vibration Institute schedules
a certification test every February in Tempe. If there is sufficient
interest, the AIPdM can proctor certification tests in the Phoenix area at
other times.
To advance the science of tribology and the
